Public Interest Litigations (PIL)
When there is infringement of Fundamental of Rights (including Social, Economic and Political Rights) of the public, the group of People and Society whose rights are infringed can file the Petition in High Court under Article 199 Of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and in Supreme Court under Article 184 (3) to invoke the powers in the interest of Public for fundamental Rights and to ensure the access of Justice and compliance of the Rule of Law in the interest of the Public.
Any person with no other remedy may file a Petition in High Court or Supreme Court by invoking the relevant Fundamental Rights’ clauses of the constitution and seek redressal from the Judiciary for the benefit of the public and not for an individual.
